Route one is a hardware package: display, mount, player box and fitting for one price. Choose it if you have no screen yet, or want it installed for you. Route two is software on a screen you own, billed monthly per screen. That is Layar, and plenty of shops use both.
Any TV with an HDMI port works. Plug in a Windows mini PC or an Android TV box, install the Layar player and pair it with a code. If the screen is already up, setup takes an afternoon.
Change the item on your phone and publish. The screen updates, no pendrive needed. This is what keeps a menu board accurate past month three.
Schedule one playlist per time block, once. Breakfast in the morning, lunch at noon, the evening promo after six. Weekday and weekend menus work the same way. Different playlists by time of day start on the RM29 plan. RM19 schedules the screen on and off, not the playlists.
The board keeps playing. Your content is stored on the player, so an outage only stops new changes. Ask any vendor about this: software that streams from the cloud goes black when the line drops.
