Best Digital Signage Software in Malaysia (2026): An Honest Comparison
Seven real options for a Malaysian business screen, with actual prices checked in August 2026, including where each one wins and where it does not. Yes, one of them is ours, and we say so.
Disclosure first: Layar, one of the products below, is ours. The prices for every product were checked on their public pricing pages in August 2026, and where a vendor does not publish a price, we say so instead of guessing. If you spot a number that has changed, email hello@getlayar.com and we will correct it.
Direct answer: if you want a monthly subscription billed in ringgit with local support, prayer time widgets and WhatsApp alerts, use Layar (free for one screen, paid from RM15 a month, with the prayer time widgets on RM29 and up). If you are comfortable with USD billing and want the most mature global product, use Yodeck or OptiSigns (from about USD 8 to 10 per screen per month).
If you want to pay once and never pay monthly, a one-time system like SmartScheduler fits, with the trade-offs one-time software always carries. If you want someone to supply and install the physical screens too, talk to an installer like C.T. Technology, and run whichever software you choose on the hardware they fit.
The comparison at a glance

| Yodeck | USD 8 to 16 per screen/month | 1 screen | No | No | Mature product, free player on annual plans |
| OptiSigns | USD 10 to 15 per screen/month | Up to 3 screens, with logo watermark | No | No | App integrations, larger fleets |
| ScreenCloud | USD 24 to 36 per screen/month | Trial only | No | No | Corporate comms, enterprise features |
| SP Signage | From RM5/month per display (from RM1,500/year cloud) | Not published | Yes | Not stated | Local vendor, larger estates by quote |

| C.T. Technology | Not published, quote only | No | Quote | n/a | Supply and installation of the screens themselves |
What the prices actually mean in ringgit
The global products bill in USD, so the sticker price is not what leaves your bank account. At the exchange rates of August 2026, Yodeck Basic at USD 8 is roughly RM38 per screen per month, OptiSigns Standard at USD 10 is roughly RM47, and ScreenCloud Core at USD 24 is roughly RM113.
None of that makes them bad products. It does mean a "cheaper" USD price can cost more than a local RM29 plan once currency is counted, and your accountant deals with a foreign card charge every month.
Layar (ours)
Layar is built for Malaysian shops, cafes, clinics, salons and offices. One screen is free forever with no credit card. Paid plans are RM15 flat for a single screen, RM29 per screen for up to ten, and RM55 per screen for unlimited screens with analytics and proof of play. Every plan price is on the pricing page. No quote, no setup fee, no minimum term, cancel anytime.
The parts that exist because Malaysia is the home market: prayer time widgets pulling official JAKIM zone times, an interface in English and Bahasa Melayu, billing in ringgit, WhatsApp alerts when a screen goes offline, and content that updates on a playing screen without restarting it, so you can change a menu during service.
Where we lose honestly: Yodeck and OptiSigns have had a decade and thousands of customers to build integrations we do not have yet, from Power BI dashboards to hundreds of app widgets.
If you need deep app ecosystems today, pick one of them. If you need a Malaysian screen running a Malaysian business day, that is what we build for. Full pricing here.
Yodeck
Yodeck is one of the most mature signage products anywhere. One screen is free with all basic features. Paid plans run USD 8 to 16 per screen per month, and annual plans include a free player device, which is genuinely good value if you were going to buy hardware anyway. Billing is in USD, the interface is English, and support runs on global time.
OptiSigns
OptiSigns is the integration king, with a large app library and plans from USD 10 to 15 per screen per month (about 10 percent less billed annually). The free tier covers up to three screens but places an OptiSigns logo on your content. Like Yodeck, billing is USD and there is no Malay interface or local-market widgets.
ScreenCloud
ScreenCloud aims at corporate communications, think head-office dashboards and staff-facing screens, at USD 24 to 36 per screen per month billed annually. It is polished and enterprise-ready, and it is priced like it. For a kedai or clinic screen it is more product, and more money, than the job needs.
SP Signage
SP Signage is a Malaysian cloud signage vendor with published prices from RM5 per month per display and cloud subscriptions from RM1,500 per year. Hardware and media players are not included, and larger deployments are quoted. A real local option, particularly if you prefer an annual invoice relationship with a vendor.
SmartScheduler
SmartScheduler sells a different model: pay once, from RM1,499, and there is no monthly software fee. If a subscription is the thing you refuse on principle, this is the honest alternative, usually bundled with hardware.
Weigh the standard one-time trade-offs: updates, cloud features and support depend on the package you buy rather than arriving continuously, and installation outside the Klang Valley is billed separately.
C.T. Technology and the installer route
C.T. Technology is a supplier and installer of the physical screens: wall mounts, standees, video walls, kiosks. It does not publish software prices, projects are quoted. If your real problem is "I need screens on walls in six branches", an installer is the right first call, and the software above runs on what they fit.
How to choose in five minutes
Count your screens and answer three questions. Do you want billing in ringgit and support in your timezone? Local products. Do you need deep third-party app integrations today? Yodeck or OptiSigns. Do you refuse monthly fees outright?
A one-time system, priced knowing what it does not include. For one to ten screens in a Malaysian shop, we built Layar for exactly you, and the first screen is free to try today with no credit card.
